Programs
Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA)
The WIA's primary purpose is to provide workforce investment activities that increase the employment, retention, and earnings of participants, and increase occupational skill attainment by participants.

Neighborhood Action Program (NAP)
The Neighborhood Action Program offers a wide variety of services including but not limited to:
citizenship, classes, ESL, advanced ESL, certified computer training, GED preparation, income tax services, support services, immigration services, translation, emergency, transportation services.

Ticket to Work
The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program is an employment program for people with disabilities who are interested in going to work (or returning to work).

Legacy Diversity Training Program
A training program created by the Los Angeles Employability Partnership to equip one-stop staff and other services providers with the skills needed to provide high quality workforce development services to persons with disabilities.

Navigator
The Disability Program Navigator helps people with disabilities "navigate" through the enormous challenges of seeking work. Complex rules surrounding entitlement programs, along with fear of losing cash assistance and health benefits, can often discourage people with disabilities from working.



Community Centers, Inc. (CCI) Is A Community Based Organization.

Education
CCI is a State of California Certified Post Secondary School with clerical and construction curricula. CCI conducts classes in remedial basic skills, GED preparation, life skills, literacy, ESL and citizenship which conducts targeted seminars and workshops. Freemont- Washington Community Adult School (FWCAS) has on site. Teachers provide instruction and classes on CCI site.

On The Job Training

Funding under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is for the training of adults. This is done through the classroom and as part of agreements with employers through on-the-job and limited internship training. CCI staff screen candidates and provide pre-employment, basic skill and vocational training. Qualified candidates are referred to the employer for interview and possible hire.

Supportive Services

CCI sponsors services such as substance abuse groups, job counseling and job placement. CCI also may provide bus tokens, bus passes, tools, boots, work clothing, uniforms and additional training.

Collaborative On Site Services

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is located on site as is the working Training Program Department of Rehabilitation. On site desks are available as needed for Freemont-Washington Community Adult School, Dress for Success, Goodwill, Department of Aging and Pathpoint.

Immigration Services

As part of the Neighborhood Action Program, clients receive help with transportation, letters, documents, family petitions, adjustments of status green cards and work permit renewal packages. Fee based immigration services are provided for identified clients. Information is distributed to all clients enrolled in the Newly Arrived Americans Program. The immigration department works as a liaison both internally and externally to provide suitable program packages for clients who are endeavor to develop English language literacy.
